Colorful characters and good intrigue! That is what I like and this book delivers both! The author knows how to grab the reader right off - and takes you on quite a journey. I was learning about centuries old traditions of Chinese culture whle being pulled deeper into this tale of intrigue. It was hard to put this book down! Now I can't wait for volume 2.......!!!!

This was a fun read. I visited China once, and this book really captures the feel of being amongst the Chinese people. The storyline is really unique (I don't want to give any of it away) and the plot is full of good twists and turns. My only complaint is that the next book is not available to buy so I can continue the mystery!
