A physician, speaker, and former chemist, Barbara Ebel's writing draws heavily from her experience as an anesthesiologist, her dealings with family court, and her interactions with people and places from around the world.

Another winner.

I read this third book in the series overnight and again found it interesting and informative. The cause of puzzling, seemingly super powers which a number of Tilson's patients exhibit is - when you think about it - not surprising, but I am not giving a spoiler here!
Dr Tilson is still endeavouring to get his ex-wife back on an official basis, that nice pair Casey and Mary are a delight, but sinister plans are afoot. Rachel is on the prowl again, ever searching for opportunities to make money at other people's expense. How she does this and the outcome are well told.
Again the medical details are intricate and for me, interesting, but the personal shenanigans are more so. I am hoping there is a final followup to this series - there has to be actually - so with any luck, Dr Ebel is currently typing her fingers down to the bone.

Just picked this up a couple days ago as I'd read the others in the series and enjoyed them. There’s a lot to like about Collateral Circulation, the third book of the series. The main characters get deeper, the medical plot is modern, and one of the antagonists continues to surprise with her depravity. And although it was a small sub-thread in this one, I was glad to see what happens to a really awful character from the last book.
Dr. Ebel continues to provide medical thrillers of the highest caliber. Despite the technical background in her bio, her writing is understandable and seems quite realistic. I actually feel like I learned a bit from reading the series in a medical sense. Even if you’re not into medicine, the characters and drama of their lives will grab you. Highly recommend this one. Enjoy.

Superhuman Brains and a Villainess Worth Hating!

This third book in Dr. Danny Tilson's saga further demonstrates the intricacies of the human brain in a way that even a layman like me can understand. Through a large part of the book, the author kept me guessing about the cause of unusual powers exhibited by ordinary people. As usual, though, by the time Dr. Danny unravels the medical mystery I'm more concerned with personal struggles faced by the main characters. I care about what happens to these people and for me, that's the best compliment I can pay any book I read. Kudos to Dr. Barbara Ebel for her subtlety and understanding of human nature in creating such interesting characters.
I must say I would like to strangle one particular antagonist. She suffers a fitting blow to her ego at one point in this book, but the resilient villainess just keeps on causing trouble. I am gnashing my teeth, waiting for her to face a final reckoning. Hurry with book four, please, Dr. Barbara!
