Great first novel!

I know that Renee Palmer is very accomplished in other artistic fields, but I wasn't sure what to expect from her first novel. I thought it was very engrossing and a real page turner.
It took a few chapters for me to really get into the story, but once the hero, Jake, travels to Arizona and meets up with his brother, the plot really gears up and I didn't want to put the book down.
I have visited Flagstaff and Winslow a number of times, most of them in order to see the Meteor Crater west of Winslow, and I really enjoyed having the novel set in that area. I am also a lifelong amateur astronomer, and I always like when stories incorporate astronomy as this one does.
The cover of the book, and the title, might make you think this is an "astronomy heavy" story, but it is not. However, if you look at the cover illustration closely, you can see a strong clue about one of the book's major plot points.
This is one of those books that will stay with me long after I have finished reading it, especially when I visit northern Arizona.

Palmer novel a hit, pure enjoyment.

Palmer's novel shows a gift for a writer able to paint a picture with her descriptive phrases. Although the book starts slowly it builds to a page turner by page 100. Thoroughly enjoyable
