Singing.."I'm an outlaw, quick on the draw".....

Clever Black continues to shake up the AA literary world. His writing does not focus on the struggle of a specific ethnicity. No....Clever writes novels that will reach all demographics and expand the readers mind.
Outlaw Chics 2,was a shock to my system. I did not see the story coming but not for the reasons one may think. I had been reading about a certain character, in another series belonging to Clever, and there was minimal background information. However, after reading this book, the characteristics and traits of the character are thoroughly understood. Clever weaves a story like no other and puts a new meaning to six degrees of separation. Honestly, I am now wondering how Clever keeps track of everyone and the storylines. Sometimes an author has too much going in a book and the chronological order of incidents gets skewed. But not with Clever Black. He has consistently written his books with accurate timelines and it's rather scary. I am very familiar with the real Bender family and their history. I've watched a few documentaries about the sadistic family. Clever is like a walking historical encyclopedia. I LOVE IT.
FAYE - After Outlaw Chics, I wanted to know more about her. She was briefly introduced to us but again, with Clever, there is always much more to his characters. Her trials and tribulations are a testimony to life. Shyt happens and a person can fold or flourish. Faye is not the character to throw a pity party. She takes every challenge head on and her brain never shuts off. She is always thinking 5 steps ahead and setting her plans in motion. You cannot help but cheer for her and want her to come out on top. Tragedy struck Faye and I was devastated. I cried and cursed Clever out, yet again. (I always do that while reading his books) Lord knows Faye was no saint but her karma was a hard to digest twist. I look forward to reading more about her and how she will channel that anger.
BONITA - They say prison can harden even the softest person....true statement. Initially, I thought Bonita would never survive in prison. I was sooooooo wrong. All it took was one incident and she started to fight back. I was like *high five* B! She began to show an improve. I'm sure her ancestors were in hell dancing and clapping. She would have made any Bender proud with some of the retribution she administered. I wonder what will be next for Bonita. Being that Tanya upheld her friendship, I'm sure there will be plenty of action and I can't wait. Faye and Bonita are some gritty go-getters. I'm not sure the streets can handle them both at the same time.
FRANKLIN - I LOVED this man. Omg,....I mean I loved him to pieces. He was caring, endearing, loving, and just the biggest sweetheart. I often found myself smiling when reading scenes with him. He just made me feel better and happy. It's like the character's warm personality was infectious. The epitome of optimism and hope. Franklin deserved to be loved and to be happy. However, it's hard to outrun one's own demons, let alone someone else's. *deep sigh*
JANE DOE - I am calling the character Jane Doe because I do not want to spoil it for others. Jane's history shocked the heck out of me. In another series, I know she is corrupt and narcissistic. But reading this book, unveiled how she came to be and the extent of her crazy. There is not 1 redeeming quality about her. She is cold, calculating and manipulative but she blends well. Sociopath is the best description of her. I may host a party the day her demise happens. She makes me sick but she is GREAT for the storyline. I am just torn between who I want to end her. The list is long and distinguished.
Clever's writing knows no boundaries. He does not put limitations on himself or his writing. He does not conform to what is typical or common in AA literature. He does not write to make a paycheck; he writes because of passion. He is changing the definition of urban writing and I am most pleased. I will try and patiently wait for the next book but really....I won't be patient!

Part 2 was on money. Love how everything was coming to full circle. Especially the connection with the new Orleans click. If you read any clever black book you should be familiar about the connection. What like about his writing it not short and not too long . Just enough for you want more without feeling disappointed. Once again Mr.Black done his thing. What like about story is the Midwest States he uses very different. That's what you called taking out the box.

You ever had a book that was your most favorite book of all times as a kid and you read that book until the pages fell out and then you lose some of the pages? The emotions you feel trying to remember each character will have you so far gone you will want more! Well this will be that book for you! The emotions that you will go through as you turn these pages and the "SHOCK" you will feel will have you saying noooooooo this book can't end! I need more! Clever Black no doubt is a "BEAST" with a pen! I have never seen an author that will find places that you have never been and put it in his writing. The difference is it TRUE history! It's like watching a movie but you are reading a book. That's why whatever Clever write I read. He will always included history in what he writes! Without given anything away! Y'all need to read this Outlaw Chic series! Don't miss out on A Great writer! Clever as always WELL written and done my friend! Emotional roller coaster! Can't wait to read more!
