Excellent "Bigfoot" Horror

This novel appears to be the fourth book in a series, but I think it is a prequel. It reads like a stand-alone. I was so impressed with the author, I looked up his other books, and that's when I realized he wrote three short stories that are part of the Breed universe.
The suspense was amazing, and the action is terrifying. I felt like my guts had been torn out by the time I finished this story.
Lomasney is a talented author, and I plan on reading more of his work ASAP. I highly recommend Breed to all horror fans!

Totally, unexpectedly, great!!

I read this book in just a few hours. I really don't have the time to read like that anymore but this was a book I couldn't put down. I didn't really know the storyline and I thought was just a serial killer theme. There is a serial killer but the catch is that it is not human! I was drawn into this world from page one and each character became as alive to me as if I was actually in their world. The book has everything...strong friendships, family bonds, mysteries, and horror. A creature is roaming the woods searching for a mate and taking revenge on anyone who gets in his way. There are many twists and turns in the story which leave you second guessing yourself and making you read on to find out what happens next. The ending was very surprising to me which made me like this book and author even more. Few books keep me reading on and on, and even fewer surprise me in the end.

Great story!

I'm all for taking an old topic and breathing new life into it- and this book BY and FAR does that. The story is tight, except for the ending, which I felt was a bit drawn out, but still good. The story is fresh and it even explores a few different avenues of cryptozoology, which I found refreshing. You didn't know "which way" the author would take the story line and to have that type of real tension and plausibility is getting harder to find these days. I think what bugs me the most about this story is whether or not there will be a sequel. Part of me wants to know "what happens next" but then the logical part of me says "the story should be left as-is" because it's a great book. If you like psychological thrillers, great characters and tasteful action/gore, then check this book out- just a warning though- it'll be hard to put down!
