Excellent Book

This is an extremely well-written, attention grasping, and emotionally turbulent novella. The author was incredibly successful in tying together 3 seemingly unrelated stories, which initially portray themselves as somewhat of a dark fairy-tale and eventually become a single story filled with suspense and anticipation. This novella is for the creative interpretive reader who appreciates details. It's the perfect book to read if you want to zone out and focus entirely on what you are reading or, because it is comprised of 3 different stories, read in segments. All-in-all, well written, articulate, and suspenseful. I hope Robert Scheige continues to publish more of his work!

Compelling read.

Clearly, Mr. Scheige, has mastered the art of painting pictures with words. In very clear, precise and literary language he uses the readers ability to interpret the words to photograph the locations in their mind. Suspense is woven into the physical and meta-physical aspects of the story and you are left wanting more. Very compelling work.

An Invigorating Thriller - Must Read!

Wow! What can I say? When I first picked up this novella and looked at the cover I had totally different expectations. I was pleasently suprised to jump into the different worlds of Benjamin that the author so meticulously described. In each story I felt like I was living and breathing in the moments at hand and I was impressed to see how well it all flowed from this first-time author. I sometimes lose interest in a novel and struggle to get through it, but the author kept me focused and moved through the story at a great pace. I literally was sucked in and could not put it down and read the book over 2 days. There were various points in the book, especially at the end, where the suspense was so great I could not wait to see what happened next.
In addition to the great story, there was also various important lessons learned in the book. For a second I was like, what is going on here? But then as I kept reading I saw how well it all tied together. I thoroughly enjoy when non-fiction provides some important life lessons and stays in the "realistic" realms.
Benjamin was a great find, and I look forward to more titles by Robert Scheige.
